The two residential areas on Parkstrasse and Safranmoos are characterized by their special situation in proximity to the adjacent city park. Between the palace and Schussental Clinic, the two neighborhoods complement the architectural border of the park. The palace park and a new plaza at the Safranmoos form the beginning and end points of the park.

The development of the residential areas simultaneously generates open public spaces. It merges with existing walkways and street connections, linking the park and city centre more strongly with one another. Existing traffic connections and trees shall be preserved and integrated into the proposed spatial structure. Municipal plazas and neighbourhood gathering spots are interspersed throughout the structural development as park entrances.
 
Hofgarten

The Parkstrasse Neighbourhood consists of four residential blocks, which create meadow-like open spaces among themselves. Each block consists of free standing buildings, which connect via a dividing wall to form a commonly shared private courtyard. Through their situation and position, they establish spatial relationships with neighbouring developments.

All neighbourhood gathering places and courtyards open up on to the park. On the south side of the development, a plaza connects the neighbourhood with the adjacent city. The plaza and adjoining road are accompanied by rows of trees.
 
Safranmoos

This area is to assume a mixture of single family homes, semi-detached houses, terraced townhouses and multi-family apartment buildings. Their development is adapted to directional changes of the topography, and divides the entire neighbourhood into subsections. Through this non-parallel alignment, additional meadow-like expanses result. All public open spaces offer direct access to the city park via the adjoining neighbourhood gathering places.
 
Schlossplatz
 The Schlossplatz (Palace Plaza) represents the most important entrance to the park from the city centre. To emphasize its urban-spatial function, the throughway traffic shall be concentrated on the left side of the plaza, allowing for a coherent and spacious area on the opposite side. The overall spatial effect of the plaza is supported by a uniform ground covering. Accompanying rows of trees and solitary trees contribute to the plaza's spatial structure.
